Smoked Shredded Beef

This is a simple recipe to follow. If you have one of the new fancy smokers that has WiFi it is pretty simple to manage. We smoke meat often at our house, especially during our kids busy times. Having it on hand for dinners makes eating healthy way easier!

1 Smoker

Ingredients
 

  • 9+ lbs Beef roast of choice
  • 2 TBS Sea salt of choice
  • 1 TBS ground pepper
  • 1.5 TBS garlic powder
  • 1.5 TBS onion powder
  • cayenne pepper to taste

Instructions
 

  • Pre heat smoker to 450 degrees.
  • Mix seasonings together in a small bowl.
  • Rub all over roast.
  • Place roast on smoker, searing each side for 10 minutes.
  • Remove roast and turn smoker down to 200 degrees.
  • Place roast in a large aluminum pan and cover with foil.
  • Let the roast smoke for about 12 hours or until internal temprature is 190-200 degrees. The meat should easily fall apart.
  • Can be used in a variety of my recipes, like Italian Beef, Shredded Beef Quesadilla, etc.
